The House is going to vote next Tuesday or Wednesday on legislation to extend the federal pay freeze.
It's
a criminal act in my book. For over two years, you and other
middle-class federal workers across America have endured a pay freeze
while grocery bills, healthcare costs, and tuition have continued to
rise. Yet the House keeps targeting us instead of common sense solutions
like eliminating tax breaks for major corporations or capping
contractor pay.
We've
been able to stop repeated attacks against us in the House – including
extending the federal pay freeze – because you've contacted your
Representative when it mattered. Right now, we need your phone
calls again to help make sure Congress gets the message that they need
to look somewhere else for savings.
Call
1-888-775-3148 to be connected to your lawmaker, and tell the person
who answers "You must vote NO on the federal pay freeze extension bill
(H.R. 273)."
Michael,
it's despicable that some members of Congress are so determined to
shill for corporations that they will attack people like you – federal
workers who have already contributed over $100 billion towards deficit
reduction, instead of fixing tax loopholes for Wall Street executives.
Clearly
this isn't about reining in spending, and it isn't about fixing the
deficit. This is simply a way for the right-wing to play politics with
federal employees who didn't create the financial mess but are the only
people being asked to pay for it.
This will only take you 30 seconds, so please take action. Call 1-888-775-3148 and tell your lawmaker to vote against the federal pay freeze extension bill.
Thank you in advance for taking action on this incredibly important issue,
J. David Cox, Sr.
